Visual principles​

Our app icons reflect the modern, innovative spirit of Dynatrace. The sophisticated, minimalist 3D icons are designed to be clear, easy to differentiate, and memorable.

Grid and form​

Dynatrace app icons come in different shapes. Each icon is optically adjusted using a grid system to ensure visual balance, proportion, and alignment.

Front face and isometric perspectives are used to add visual appeal and suggest functionality.

Color​

The Dynatrace color palette has green, blue, and purple as its main colors. The color spectrum is 60% cold, 30% warm, and 10% neutral.

The hues of the app icon palette are carefully chosen to work in light and dark modes. This allows us to use the same icon for both modes.

These are the ten colors in the app icon palette: #8793AF, #47AE8F, #61BAB1, #65A2CE, #528DEE, #7D6AFA, #8261CF, #C16AAD, #DA7288, and #E9B86E.

Contrast, surface, and shadow​

Well-defined contrasts ensure that our app icons are distinct and clean, regardless of the background.

The icon surfaces have a matte finish for a friendly, solid appearance. The matte appearance is achieved with subtle gradients and shadow effects that add depth and a sense of 3D, without shine.
